Oklahoma Football Tournament

Well Ben has successfully competed in his first ever football tournament. Usually the kids his age don't go because in Oklahoma kids in Ben's divison can be up to 10 yrs old. So usually Rockwall sends their older 1A players and then bring down some of the younger 2A players. We weren't planning on going but Ben was doing so well in the practices that we decided along with the coaches that Ben should go. We headed out Friday morning, the 16th and were in OK by dinner time. The kids all met in the lobby of the hotel and we headed over to registration. Our first game was Sat. morning. They won the first game so that meant another game at 2pm. Broke and had some lunch with another player and his family. They lost the 2nd game (rigged I tell you!) and so that meant another game at like 7pm. They won that game so we were up and at the field's again Sunday morning for another game. Had they won that game (and would have if not for bad calls) then we would have played for 3rd place. They lost but the boys really put up a good fight and gave the other team a good hurting. Guess that is what TX football is all about....hit hard and make the other team cry first. lol We headed to the OK aquarium on our way home and that was a fun time. The kids got to see some sharks up close and personal and they were excited about that. All in all it was a good time and we will go again next year. Ben will be a Sr. player for 1A next season so that means more playing time and he is excited about that prospect.
