Well apparently.....there is nothing wrong with me. Don't laugh, as I am sure many of you think there is "something" wrong with me.....just not with my kidneys. lol So the Dr. said he could find no urological reason for my pain, so perhaps a visit to the chiro is in order. So...no more water for me!! Hooray!!! I'm back to drinking Diet DP and loving every minute of it.
Thanks for the well wishes, thoughts and prayers. :)

2 games down....quite a few to go.
We had our 2nd and last preseason football game yesterday. The boys did GREAT! They have won both of the preseason games. The first one the score was us 25 and them 6, last night was us 29 and them 0. The boys are doing so well working as a team and I cannot say enough good things about the coaches or the Jackets football organization as a whole. I am truly impressed. So regular season starts the 23rd and then we have games through November, followed by 2 out of town tournaments. Looks like it's going to be a really fun season for both the players and the parents. :)
Here are pics from both games: (they are in their orange practice uniforms....Ben is #19)

Football season is upon us.
This is the 2nd season that Ben will be playing for the Rockwall Jackets 1A select football team. We are loving the new coaches! The previous coaches moved up to 2A with the older boys and the old flag coaches moved up to 1A. These are the coaches that took the flag team to win the Superbowl of the league in their divison. They are awesome coaches and Ben has already learned more this season than all of last year. He's doing well and really seems to be a strong force on the team this year. He's one of the older boys now, and he really looks the part out there. They have their first game this Sunday night, but it's a preseason game. Regular season play starts in a couple of weeks. They get new uniforms every year, so I will have to post more pics when they come in. For now they practice every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6-8pm and man is it HOT! We hit 107 yesterday, and today is more of the same. Water is now Ben's friend and we are keeping him hydrated so that he can play and practice with little problem. I'll have to get some more recent pics of them all practicing in full pads...these are all helmet only practice pics.

Urologist? Yup...I'm old.
So I've been having some issues with my kidneys. They hurt...a lot. At first I thought it was perhaps a kidney stone, but now I am not so sure. So I saw the urologist yesterday and I have to go in on Monday for a CT scan of my abdomen and my pelvis, with and without contrast. Then a week later I go and see the Doc again and find out my fate. Could be a stone, a blockage of some other sort or perhaps a prolapsed bladder from what he tells me.
I have to tell you guys that I was the youngest person in there by at least 30+ years. I am not kidding. And it's a small office and it was packed! So guess who stood the whole time. Well not the whole time...I did have a seat for about 5 mins until this old woman came in and gave me the evil eye and I realized that the polite me should give her my chair. So I minded the polite me and did just that. At least she thanked me. And while I was in there admiring all of the wrinkles and oxygen tanks my urology buddies were sporting I made an observation. Why is it that older women write lists on old envelopes and then have them stick out of their purses longways? I noticed a couple of older ladies there with said lists and it reminded me so much of my grandmother. She did that EXACT same thing! So I got to thinking that this must be a practice of the elderly. I texted my sister about it, and I am quite certain she thought I had lost my mind. When I left I called my mother and mentioned it to her and you know what....she does it too! Now..she never used to do that so I am thinking the phenomenon happens sometime after your 50th b-day. So beware if you are fast approaching that magical age.
I will let you know how the CT goes. And maybe I'll have more insight from the older set then as well.

A fun 4th of July!
We had a pretty fun filled 4th! We started the day with swimming at the community pool. I love to go in the mornings when it's fresh and clean and not too crowded. It was a hot morning though! Summer in TX is offically in full swing for sure. Came home from the pool, showered up everyone and had some lunch. Spent the rest of the afternoon just relaxing until time to head out for my friend Patty's house. Patty and Jesse invited us over for a 4th cookout. We had a BLAST! William just loves her older son, Jonathan....and Ben is popular with all the smaller kids. The food was wonderful! They had bought all of these poppers for the kids to use and they had a great time with those. I wasn't sure if William would like it or not...but he was a poppin' fool! They also played with water guns, water balloons and jumped on the trampoline. We adults go to just sit around and shoot the breeze while enjoying the gorgeous Texas evening. Around 10pm we all got to see fireworks from about 3 of the local shows. That was pretty neat! We got home about 12:30am and were exhausted! But wow...what a fun day we all had.

It's official....Ben's a 3rd grader!
Yesterday was the last day of school for Ben. They had an awards ceremony at 1pm in his classroom. We all watched a video of the performance they did around Valentine's Day and then his teacher presented everyones awards.
Ben got A honor roll, a citizenship award for being neat and orderly (no laughing some of you), and 3 ribbons for field day. He came in 2nd in free throws for the entire 2nd grade! Pretty cool! Then after the awards were all handed out, there was cookies and juice for the kids. Even Will got one, so that was nice. It all ended about 2pm and most kids left with their parents, but Ben wanted to stay so that he could ride the bus home one last time for the school year.
Hard to believe he's going to be in the 3rd grade!!! Wow!

Schools out for summer! lol
